A Prince Among Men

Originally posted in 2008! Enjoy!

"Indeed, as I learned, there were on the planet where the little prince lived--as on all planets--good plants and bad plants. In consequence, there were good seeds from good plants, and bad seeds from bad plants. But seeds are invisible. They sleep deep in the heart of the earth's darkness, until some one among them is seized with the desire to awaken. Then this little seed will stretch itself and begin--timidly at first--to push a charming little sprig inoffensively upward toward the sun. If it is only a sprout of radish or the sprig of a rose-bush, one would let it grow wherever it might wish."

From The Little Prince
written by Antoine de Saint Exupéry

One should not be confused by appearances Prince is not as young as he looks, 21 going on 30 was my first impression. Here is someone who exudes confidence with out being arrogant, a really nice person, a rarity these days. Yet when I first met Prince I couldn't help but think of the book "the little prince" and his journey though life, just starting into his adult life Princes journey will take him through college and beyond where he will undoubtedly meet his experiences head on with the same confidence and grow into whatever he might wish.

Congratulations on having your work included in Black 4. You have an appreciative eye for the black male form--never static--never reducing the black body to an art object, though your work is full of artistry. Have you seen Black 3? If so, what do you make of Orokie's work? Photography plays a key part in how he "looks" as an artist. Again, congratultions!
