Mothers Day 2010
I have always considered this one of my first serious portraits. I took it when I was 14 years old on a trip to Maine (ironically a trip that included Toronto as a stop as we passed through Canada) We had stopped at a place made famous for serving high tea in the afternoon. I remember the server taking the entire order for the family with out writing anything down... It was apart of their claim to fame. This trip was a perfect example of my mothers planning(Dads too)... We went to places where we learned things ...saw things that enriched our lives. We spent a great deal for time in Bar Harbor where I first put my toes into the Atlantic ocean! We saw Niagara Falls and climbed Mt. Washington which is the tallest peek on the east coast. It was a memorable trip for all of us. I don't want to say that I am still suffering her loss, though I often am, today being one of those moments. I am however centred on my fondest thoughts of my mother and that has brought a smile to my face, she is with me always.
